Fire Sprinkler System

Fire sprinkler systems in domestic dwellings are designed to provide early, automatic fire suppression to protect life and limit fire growth. They are typically designed in accordance with BS 9251 and use small, unobtrusive sprinkler heads supplied by a dedicated or shared water source. The design considers room size, water demand, flow rates, coverage areas, and positioning to ensure effective activation without causing unnecessary water damage. Installation involves fitting pipework throughout the property usually concealed within ceilings or walls and ensuring a reliable connection to the water supply or a stored water system if pressure is insufficient. Once installed, the system must be commissioned, tested, and handed over with appropriate documentation. Regular inspection and maintenance help ensure long-term reliability and compliance.
